Because my son asked me tonight when I got home, “going paddling?” and was stunned when I said no. Because Erica will still be making race food right up until we’ve gone racing, not to mention putting up with my practice and race schedule. Because all my buddies, paddle or no, have started to hit me up with simple wishes of good luck. Because so many folks have stepped up with support.

Thank you. I’ll find many more ways to show all of you my stoke in the next five days. BT

It Doesn’t Feel Like A Milestone

44…it doesn’t feel like a milestone. I just wanted a Blanc de Blanc and some toast, but I’ll have to settle for clicking off mileage. Works for me 😉

Okay, so for the day…wishes for toast and the Blanc, killer dinner with the family, and 44 miles between work and meetings: 10 run, 25 bike, 7 paddling, 1 walking to the restaurant, and the last few clicks with my GPS around the dog’s collar…so what if threw the ball(?)–I’m officially middle…fucking…age.

Good day racing. 3rd place stock division; 2:02. Conditions were perfect. Did we get wind…yes we had wind.  Did we have sun…sun was had. Was the surf absolutely firing…yes surf was epic.

Oh, the best part of the day? — a guy from New York paddled up and asked if I had a blog… Yes, this one…humble little Far and a Wey; it was one of the reasons he jumped on a plane and paddled the Zahn. Honored, stoked…and made a new friend. So cool.
